Favorite V-Day Gifts

Denise, Account Manager
My husband and I were on a ski trip in Colorado in January a few years ago. Normally, I would never be able to get him into an art gallery, but since galleries are everywhere in ski towns, he was amenable to walking into one. I immediately fell in love with a very large painting of aspen trees and tried to convince him how beautiful it would look over our fireplace. He looked at the price and told me it far exceeded his appreciation of art. Several weeks later, just in time for Valentine's Day, it was delivered to our home.

Moe, Art Director
I received my most favorite Valentine’s Day gift over 28 years ago when Barry and I first started dating. He gave me a delicate little gold heart necklace with the tiniest little pearl in the middle of the heart. I still cherish it, but if gifts and relationships coincide with one's life ... today, 28 years later, I'm more inclined to appreciate a chunky silver heart pendant on a black leather cord!

Rachel, Managing Editor
When it comes to romance, I have always been a sucker for grand gestures. When my husband and I began dating, we were living in different cities while I was in school. Valentine’s Day happened to fall on a Thursday, so we agreed that we would celebrate on the weekend so that we could be together. On Thursday night, after returning to my dorm after work, Jeff called me to wish me a happy Valentine’s Day. Before hanging up, he said, “Look out your window. I’m the guy across the street holding the roses.” He had driven two hours to see me, and, knowing I had an exam to study for, turned right back around and drove home – after kissing the happiest girl in the world.

Liz, Account Manager
A former boyfriend happened to be out of town on a particular Valentine’s Day. To make sure I knew he was thinking about me, he had a diamond heart-shaped necklace delivered to my house.

Hillary, Production Manager
The Valentine’s Day I cherish most was the day I had to pick up my boyfriend at the airport. As I waited for him to walk through security, a passenger coming from the gate area walked up, handed me a rose and wished me a happy Valentine’s Day. Then another passenger brought me a rose with the same greeting, then another, and another. They kept coming, 12 passengers from my boyfriend’s flight, until I held a dozen roses in my arms. Finally, up the walkway, he came with the last rose in his hand. He took me in his arms and kissed me right there in the middle of the airport. I heard applause and realized that all the passengers who had helped him deliver his Valentine message had waited to see him bring me the final rose.
