I have been coming to the Bent Cover Bookstore for years. It has always had a unique layout and a large selection and the neighborhood has always adored its presence. It has been a landmark in North Phoenix for almost 25 years. It did have a notorious history of having boxes everywhere though and stacks and stacks of books! (We're talking boxes of books stacked to the ceiling so high you could not even enter some rooms!)

Sadly, about 4 years ago the previous owner passed away and the store was in limbo for a year and a half or so.

Kathy Johnson, being a previous customer for years herself, had always love this store and didn't want to se eit close. So she had a dream to make the Bent Cover Bookstore into the most beautiful used bookstore complete with a coffee shop where a storage area previously was.

After 4 months Kathy accomplished this dream and old customers come in for the first time still after 2 years in awe and amazement at how different this store looks and how happy the old owner would be if she could only see it.

As one of the employees there sine the beginning I have seen the store drastically change and sene how hard Kathy has worked to accomplish this transformation.
